Author Guidelines

Jurnal Ilmiah Dinamika Sosial (JIDS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published by Universitas Pendidikan Nasional. The journal welcomes high-quality original research articles and review papers in the field of social and political sciences. Authors are encouraged to carefully follow these guidelines before submitting their manuscripts.

Article Types

Articles are original articles of research results or review results from previous articles. Articles can be written in English. The number of pages of articles between 10–12 pages includes a list of references.

The systematic writing of the research article consists of: title, author's name, institution and correspondence address, abstract, keywords, introduction, methods, results and discussion, conclusions and suggestions, acknowledgements, conflict of interest statement, and reference list.

The systematic conceptual article writing (containing the results of the review) consists of: title, author's name, institution and correspondence address, abstract, keywords, introduction, core part, summary, and list of references.

Manuscript Structure

Title – TNR 16, Bold, capitalized, max 15 words, describing the contents
Author(s) and Affiliation(s) – TNR 12, first name abbreviated, surname not abbreviated. Different institutions marked with superscript
Abstract – 200–250 words, informative, self-explanatory, clear problem statement, approach, major findings and conclusions. Written in past tense. No literature cited
Keywords – 3–5 keywords, separated by semicolons
Introduction – Includes background, theoretical basis, problems, problem solving plans and research objectives. Written in TNR 10, single spacing
Methods – Contains how data is collected, data sources and ways of data analysis
Results and Discussion – Final results without data analysis process, hypothesis testing results. Discussion answers research problems, interprets findings, integrates findings with existing knowledge
Conclusion – Answers to research questions and suggestions. Written in essay form, not numerical form
Acknowledgements (optional) – Addressed to official institutions or individuals who provided funding or contributions. Include research contract number if applicable

Author Biography

Title and Author Format

The title of the article is written using TNR 16, Bold, capitalized, Align Right, consisting of a maximum of 15 words and describing the contents of the manuscript.

The author's name is written using TNR 12, not accompanied by a title. The first name is abbreviated while the last name (surname) is not abbreviated. Names of authors from different agencies are marked using a superscript behind the name.

Figures and Tables

Figures: Inserted in text box, caption placed below the image, numbered and referred to in text. Captions begin with uppercase letters, drawn with 1pt line width, good contrast quality
Tables: Created with 1pt line width, caption placed above the table. Only horizontal lines, vertical lines omitted. Information with more than 2 rows uses single line spacing
Formulas written separately using Microsoft Equation, equipped with numbering on the right

References

Minimum 25 references
At least 80% from Scopus-indexed journals
References should be published within the last 5 years
Use APA 7th Edition style
References listed in alphabetical order by author's surname (A-Z)
All references cited in text must be listed in reference list
Authors are required to use Mendeley or Zotero
Every journal reference should include an active DOI whenever available

International Collaboration Policy

To strengthen the journal's international visibility and support its long-term roadmap toward Scopus indexing, manuscripts involving international collaboration are strongly encouraged. Manuscripts with at least one co-author affiliated with a foreign institution will receive priority during the editorial screening and reviewer assignment process. Priority review does not guarantee acceptance. Every manuscript will undergo the same rigorous peer-review process and must meet the journal's scientific and ethical standards.

Conflict of Interest Statement (Mandatory)

To ensure fair and objective decision-making, authors must declare any associations that pose a conflict of interest (financial, personal, or professional) in connection with manuscripts. Non-financial competing interests include a declaration of political, personal, religious, ideological, academic, and intellectual competing interests.

If there are no conflicts of interest, include the following statement:

"The authors declare that they have no known competing financial interests or personal relationships that could have appeared to influence the work reported in this paper."

In this section, authors are required to provide their professional biography (150–200 words, TNR 9). Each author should provide:
