Archiving & Preservation Policy

Archiving and Preservation Policy

Holistica Pharmatica Scientia is deeply committed to the long-term preservation and permanent availability of all its published digital content. We recognize that ensuring continuous access to scholarly records is a fundamental responsibility of academic publishing.

1. Digital Archiving Networks

To safeguard our published articles against accidental data loss, server failure, or other unforeseen technical disruptions, this journal actively participates in multiple globally recognized distributed archiving systems:

PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN): We utilize the Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network, specifically designed for OJS-hosted journals, to digitally preserve all published issues and ensure their long-term accessibility.
LOCKSS & CLOCKSS: The journal employs the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) systems to create a decentralized, tamper-proof, and dark archive distributed among participating libraries globally. This permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for preservation and restoration purposes.
Institutional Backups: In addition to global networks, routine local and off-site server backups are rigorously maintained by the IT infrastructure of Universitas Pendidikan Nasional.

2. Author Self-Archiving Policy (Green Open Access)

In alignment with our CC BY-SA 4.0 Open Access policy, we highly encourage authors to proactively archive and share their work. Authors hold full rights to deposit various versions of their manuscripts in institutional or disciplinary repositories, personal websites, and academic networking platforms (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu).

Pre-print Version: Authors may archive the initial version of their manuscript submitted to the journal before peer review.
Post-print Version: Authors may archive the accepted, peer-reviewed version of the manuscript.
Published Version: Authors are strongly encouraged to archive the final, publisher-formatted PDF version.

When self-archiving the published version, authors are required to provide a proper citation to the original publication in Holistica Pharmatica Scientia, including the official DOI link to ensure proper academic crediting and tracking.
