The project aims to facilitate collaboration between the two cities in addressing wastewater management challenges in Bandung. Accordingly, this study poses the following research question: How effective is the BKG Project in implementing the Bandung–Kawasaki sister city partnership? This study applies Kevin O’Toole’s theoretical framework on the phases of sister city partnerships and adopts a mixed-methods approach. Data were collected and analyzed through interviews, questionnaires, observations, and a literature review. Questionnaires were distributed to nearly 200 respondents, including teachers, students, and staff of the Bandung administration. The findings show that the Bandung–Kawasaki partnership is currently in the reciprocative phase, with the BKG Project as its main initiative. At this stage, the BKG Project has been effective in facilitating knowledge transfer from Kawasaki to Bandung. This process enables the Kawasaki government to support capacity development among staff of the Bandung administration, as well as teachers and elementary school students, in improving wastewater management practices in Bandung. The novelty of this research lies in its focus on assessing the BKG Project, making it the first study to do so. This study contributes to the growing body of literature on sister city partnerships in Indonesia and offers insights into ongoing debates about their practical impact and value.
Alessandro Kurniawan Ulung Pradono Budi Saputro Yuli Setiawan Copyright (c) 2026 Alessandro Kurniawan Ulung, Pradono Budi Saputro, Yuli Setiawan https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2026-04-30 2026-04-30 10 1 1 16 10.38043/jids.v10i1.7529 Building Visitor Loyalty through Green Marketing and Destination Image in Jakarta’s Sustainable Urban Tourism https://journal.undiknas.ac.id/index.php/fisip/article/view/7613
This study examines how Green Marketing is associated with Visitor Loyalty in sustainable urban tourism by exploring how tourists interpret sustainability efforts through destination perceptions. Using survey data from 200 tourists who visited sustainable urban tourism sites in Jakarta within the past 12 months, the study employs Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test both mediation and moderation effects in the proposed model. The findings indicate that Green Marketing is positively associated with Destination Image, which in turn strongly relates to Visitor Loyalty. However, Green Marketing does not have a significant direct relationship with Visitor Loyalty, suggesting that its influence operates primarily through the development of destination perceptions rather than through direct promotional exposure. These results confirm the mediating role of Destination Image in the relationship between Green Marketing and Visitor Loyalty. In addition, Green Marketing moderates the relationship between Destination Image and Visitor Loyalty, indicating that the strength of this relationship varies depending on the level of Green Marketing. These findings are particularly relevant in the context of Jakarta’s urban tourism development, where sustainability initiatives are increasingly promoted while visitor perceptions remain diverse and fragmented. The results suggest that in emerging urban destinations, the effectiveness of Green Marketing depends not only on promotional visibility but also on the credibility of sustainability meanings embedded in the destination experience. Accordingly, visitor loyalty is more likely to develop when sustainability initiatives are integrated into tangible experiences and a coherent destination identity rather than communicated solely through promotional green claims.
Veronica Veronica Surya Ramadhana Copyright (c) 2026 Veronica https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2026-05-08 2026-05-08 10 1 17 27 10.38043/jids.v10i1.7613 Livelihood Resilience Patterns of Baturraden Highland Farmers https://journal.undiknas.ac.id/index.php/fisip/article/view/7111
The majority of farmers in Baturraden live in mountainous areas and work as farmers. Although agriculture is the primary driver of the community's economy and the primary source of livelihoods, it is hampered by natural conditions, including unpredictable climate change. Climate instability is a major driver of farmers' livelihood problems, threatening economic resilience and the sustainability of farmer regeneration. Previous studies have explained how farmers cope with climate change by storing their harvests for use when times of famine arrive. This study aims to explore the agricultural practices used by farmers in Baturraden to deal with uncertain climate conditions. The approach is qualitative, using a case study methodology to uncover the nature of the events. The data collection process was carried out through interviews. Informants for interviews were purposively sampled, meaning they were deliberately selected based on predetermined criteria aligned with the research objectives. The interview results were then analyzed using QDA Miner 6 software. The study findings indicate that farmers' practices include changes in cropping patterns and crop diversification. Farmers do all of this to maintain income from the agricultural sector. For farmers, livelihood is their primary focus because it is closely linked to household sustainability and farmer regeneration. This study is limited to farmers' practices in addressing climate change and has not examined the social, cultural, and economic influences that support these practices; therefore, further studies are needed to obtain in-depth results on the livelihood resilience of farmers in Baturraden.
Muhamad Chairul Basrun Umanailo Rhisanda Nitma Tesyawa Annisa Retrofilia Umanailo Copyright (c) 2026 Muhamad Chairul Basrun Umanailo, Rhisanda Nitma Tesyawa, Annisa Retrofilia Umanailo https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 2026-05-11 2026-05-11 10 1 28 43 10.38043/jids.v10i1.7111
